It's also likely to be in the library of NGOs like the Humsafar Trust.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02342934196832519389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10407445.post-22943974814133070212016-10-12T01:40:28.692-07:002016-10-12T01:40:28.692-07:00Very Inspiring and Motivating!!! It is so refreshing to hear from someone who is actively working on LGBT and HIV related issues right here in India. Also, many thanks for the Marathi writings that you are doing .. where are all the other gay writers in all the other indian languages? I completely agree that unless we reach out and build awareness among the average non-English speaking person gay liberation and gay rights in India will remain an alien concept.

I'd also like to mention a site called InduGay.com that is doing its share to help LGBT people build sincere, long term relationships and friendships.

RajMusingAloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17388175955576107742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10407445.post-60922786727525522542008-05-07T07:16:00.000-07:002008-05-07T07:16:00.000-07:00The interview with Mr.Khire was inspiring in more ...The interview with Mr.Khire was inspiring in more ways than one.Not only upholding oneself as an example who reversed the trend of brain drain but also coming to terms with the aspects of his identity, asserting it and driving oneself towards a positive contribution for the LGBT community and the society at large.
I am from Kolkata, and have been associated with a few NGOs who are working for LGBT issues but sadly speaking the scene out here is pretty stagnant.I agree with Mr.Khire when he says that the internet has only facilitated the availability of partners for one night stands.Somewhere down the line the NGOs have even failed to move beyond project proposals and funding issues.Although we at Kolkata feel proud that it still boasts as the only city to host the gay pride walk in the country but sadly that too has failed to create much of a ripple beyond the supplementary pages in newspapers.
However,at the end of the day I am hopeful that together we can find a way ahead, much like our friends in Nepal did,but the million dollar question is are we really willing to.
ParthaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
